Little by little....
So the funny thing is, not much has been done, or should I say finished since the laundry room. Preston and I put in pergo flooring in Hayden's room. It only took a few hours and it looks quite nice actually. Then Preston put in glass blocks in the window of our kitchen which looks nice, the trim just needs to be painted. Then since we decided we were pro's at laying floor after one room, we decided to do the dining area, hall, and kitchen. That was a fun project, still in progress as we need to put the trimming around the base of the walls. We now have to replace a partial wall in the hallway thanks to a teenage friend of Hayleigh's who decided to throw her body into it while playing around. It just seems like the more improvements we do, the more in-completion there is due to needing to finish something else. It had driven me to the point where I just don't care anymore about how the house looks. I know that's crappy but you know, you can only take so freakin much! The only thing that is finished that I am enjoying the heck out of, is the central air and heat. Thank ya Jesus for that!

Laundry room
Preston and Hayden just finished tiling the laundry room, thank heaven! Our stinking cat Bella loved to pee on the carpet and anything laying on the carpet in there. The litter box of course was 2 inches away but she preferred the comfort of the floor I guess. Not sure why, she is mostly an inside cat but she does go outside sometimes. She would potty outside and come in and use the box like a normal cat, but out of the blue BAM just go on the floor. WTH? It got to the point where it was unbearable. I would vacuum, keep everything off the floor, scrub the floor but she would still do it and it made the side entrance like the walk of nastiness. So when they finished tiling the floor, her happy butt goes in there to walk around and sniff. She was clueless, where do I pee now? GRRR stinking cat. Now all we lack is painting the walls and refinishing a few of the boards in there. Still thinking of a color to paint it....what is a good laundry room color??? hmmmm.
Bath remodel follow up...
Tile is still on the walls and floor, no ceiling tiles yet, no window blocks. Still where it was from last blog......

So here we are, bugs and all....
We finally moved in in the second to the last week in April. Although it was crazy all is finally in it's place for the most part and I have family currently staying with me. So that is a plus. There are still a few things that need to be done. I have about 3 rooms to update and the bathroom and hall need to be finished by texture and paint. The outside of the house needs to be painted but it's getting there. We have purchased the kids a go kart and a pool to alleviate the boredom of country life lol. But really they love it out here. They like the open land, privacy and ability to be outside without me looking over there shoulder to make sure someone doesn't decide to do something crazy. So more updates to come as we get closer to getting thing accomplished.

Houston we have a problem
Preston and his dad have been diligently working on the spinks house to get it ready for move in. We planned to use the original wood floors throughout the house with a little spit shine they would be great. Today I found out that there will only be one room in the house with those gorgeous floors as the others are just not sanding well. So basically I can throw all my idea's for decor out and start over with new ones. The problem is.....with school, kids, homework and studying.....i just don't have the energy to worry about it. i hope it doesn't end up looking like crap.

So did we close on the house?
We decided to buy this house and for some reason the title company refuses to keep us informed lol. I am like ok so we closed or no or yes or.... So at this point we have a deal with the previous owner that we are going to start construction on the house (of course he was ok with it). Now working on getting the utilities all turned on. Still haven't heard final word. But I guess we will get it when we move in? Which I am sure will be right in the middle of a string of tests I have.
